Dennings was involved in a romantic relationship in a relationship with Nick Zano (co-star of "2 Broke Girls") in 2011 through the year 2014. Following their breakup, she began dating Josh Groban. Both remained in a relationship until 2016. At the beginning of 2021, the couple met musician Andrew W.K. In May 2021 they confirmed that their friendship began. Dennings has been a fan from 2014. Although Dennings was Jewish and has stated that she identifies more with the faith on an ethnic or cultural level, and she does not make religion an active part of her life. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, and painting. She had planned to go to an art college, however after the entire portfolio of her was damaged by flooding, her plans dissolved. It was the flood that prompted her to begin acting. Transcendental Mindfulness is a practice she regularly engages in. She has been a vocal advocate for animal rights, as well as having one cat.
